Jack and His Cousins

This is a picture of Jack and his cousins this past Christmas. From the left is AJ, then Jack, Courtney, Emerson and Chaz on the end. As you can see, my wife buzzed Jack's head just shortly before the holidays. At first I was a bit shocked, but the buzz cut grew on me and I really liked it. His hair has grown out since in the past three months and now he's starting to look like David Bowie (mid to late '70's) so I think it's time for another buzz cut. Oh yeah, his brother Lincoln will be joining the family within the next month so Jack's getting ready to be a big brother!

He's 19 Months Old!!

I guess it's time to update Jack's blog - yes about a year later. A lot has happened in little Jack's life. He took a trip to Tokyo, had his one-year old birthday bash, went to his first San Diego Padres game, and on and on.... He also found out recently that he's having a little brother in April! So he's gearing up for big brother status. I've attached a picture of him at the Ueno Zoo in Tokyo with one of his favorite animals - the giraffe!

Incredible Mutant Lobster Boy Found on the Central California Coast!

Meet the Incredible Mutant Lobster Boy seen here being carried away by a local man in Kingsburg, California. "I can't believe what I found when I pulled the cage out of the water," claims Jose Wafferman, a janitor and lobster enthusiast who found this cute crustacean early Friday morning. "He scared me silly at first, but then I thought I would take him home. I sure hope the wife doesn't mind."

The lobster, nicknamed "Jacques" by the townspeople, weighed in at an alarming 17 pounds. "It's the darndest thing if you ask me," said Sheriff Griffith. "I swear it's half boy and half lobster. You ain't seen nothing like that around in these here parts. No sir!"

Jack Has Arrived!! His Father Just Took Eight Months to Get His Blog Back Up!

Eight months later.....Capt Jack Rogers is here! As you can tell by the date on my previous post, it has been over a year since I've written anything. The last time I posted, Kimberly and I found out we were having a baby boy.

I was so excited at the prospect of having a child, that my mind raced with ideas. I wanted to write something for him that would last forever, so I started with an idea of a futuristic space fleet of kids who would go and explore the outer reaches of the universe. The main hero of course would be Captain Jack Rogers (no relation to Buck Rogers). They would fight outlandish extraterrestrials, explore new planets and worlds, and possibly find out what's past the outer layer of the universe.

Well, the story is on the mental "bookshelf" for now. The paragraph you read is as far as I got. I thought it would be cool, however, to keep an updated blog of Jack on-line. An internet diary, if you will, that others can read, comment on, and view pictures that we'll post of Mr. Jack E Chan. To view correctly, the most recent posts start at the top.

If anything else, this will be a blog dedicated to the boy who has turned my life upside down. I'm inviting you to enjoy the photos, the silly writing, and also to post some comments as well. I'll be giving updates on Jack and what he's up to these days - currently teething, trying to crawl, and learning to laugh.

Cheers

PS - Feel free to pass the word along about the blog. It's a great way to share the fun of the "Jack"! The website is http://jackrogersdiary.blogspot.com/

A recent photo of Capt. Jack Rogers taken by a ULSD GPS-Satellite. Posted by Hello

Welcome to Captain Jack Rogers' Exploration Diary!

Welcome to the fantastical world of Jack Rogers! Housed in a murky universe of fluid, darkness, and odd sounds, read along as Jack explores and discovers this new world that he has been warped to through a Vector-7 worm hole.

Selected for this dangerous mission by his commander and team of universal explorers, Captain Jack has been commissioned to discover what lies on the other side of the vast universe, and report back to Command Center his findings along the way.

This exploration mission has been done before, but none of the travelers have ever returned. Some theorists say that this mission truly is "impossible", that the outer ends of the universe contain aliens and other deadly beings that dislike the thought of outsiders intruding on their territory. Others say that lethal gases and unknown poisons take the lives of the brave explorers, while some point to the extreme pressure that can crush any alloy that exists.

What is the mystery? Why does the command center eventually lose contact with the explorer? Is this adventure worth the cost of another brave soldier? The General thinks so. With a beefed up Super-SEV (Space Exploration Vehicle) equipped with all of the latest technologies and gizmos - including a PS-1000 laser guided missile system, a force field that can withstand a super-ton mega-bomb, and a GPS unit that will transmit every move Capt. Jack makes, even when warped through worm holes - the General believes that this is the mission that will open the doors to new worlds and other life forms. And he believes that Capt. Jack is the perfect man for the mission.
